More about Čižići
The village Čižići is located in the Soline Bay, in the northern part of the munici-pality of Dobrinj. Considering that Soline Bay is very shallow, the sea near Čižići is significantly warmer than the sea outside Soline Bay, making it suitable for a pro-longed swimming season. In the immediate vicinity of Čižići is the locality of Meline, a coastal area known for its healing mud.
The healing mud from Soline has become a major attraction for tourists with health issues. While it offers significant benefits, it is not a cure-all. The most ef-fective results are typically seen in the treatment of rheumatism and skin condi-tions.
Biserujka Cave, situated on the island of Krk, lies 300 meters northwest of the vil-lage of Rudine, near Čižići. It has been adapted to accommodate tourists and boasts a treasure trove of cave adornments, including limestone curtains, stal-agmites, and stalactites. The cave reaches its lowest point at -13 meters, with its base resting just 30 meters above sea level. Despite its shallow depth, the floor’s thickness never surpasses 6 to 8 meters. Additionally, fragments of cave bear bones have been discovered within its confines.
